Mos Burger’s Autumn Menu: Try the Piping Hot Sweet Potato Balls and and Customizable Shake

trademark of MOS Burger is seen in Shinjuku Ward

As fall settles in, fast-food chains across Japan are unveiling their limited-time Tsukimi (moon-viewing) burgers, and Mos Burger is joining the trend. But Mos isn’t just about unique burgers—it’s also celebrated for high-quality seasonal desserts. This fall, Mos Burger is rolling out not only its Tsukimi Focaccia but also two sweet potato-themed treats, available starting next week.

Mos Burger’s Atsu Atsu Osatsu Balls

The first item is the Atsu Atsu Osatsu Balls, a delightful nod to Taiwan’s QQ balls, with a distinct Japanese twist. “Atsu atsu” means “piping hot,” and “osatsu” refers to sweet potatoes, one of Japan’s favorite fall flavors. These bite-sized delights are crafted from dough infused with purple sweet potato powder, encasing a filling of Narutokintoki sweet bean paste, a gourmet variety from Tokushima Prefecture.

As the name suggests, these treats are served very hot. Mos recommends tearing or biting into them carefully to release steam, revealing their soft, chewy interior and crisp exterior. The two-tone color scheme, resembling an actual sweet potato, is another appealing feature.

Sweet Potato Mazeru Shake

For those who prefer their desserts in liquid form, Mos is introducing the Satsumaimo Mazeru Shake. This “mixable” shake has a vanilla base, topped with a sweet potato-flavored layer. Two premium varieties—Maron Gold and Beni Haruka—are used in its creation. Beni Haruka, known as the sweetest sweet potato in Japan, even contributes its skin to the shake’s sauce, adding texture to the creamy drink.

The fun part? You can adjust the shake’s flavor by stirring the sweet potato sauce into the vanilla base, customizing it to your taste.

Both items hit the menu on September 11 and will be available until mid-November, while supplies last. Here’s a breakdown of the prices:
